FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Where U At

Q. What kind of app is Where U At?

Where U At is a location-based SNS. You stack records made in real places, and courses that join those places, on a map.
You browse by where something happened, rather than by a timeline.

Q. Does Where U At share my location in real time?

No. Where U At does not keep sharing your live location.
Only the place you choose when you leave a koong or make a link is shown.

Q. Do I have to allow location access?

Features that confirm where you are, such as writing a koong, need location access.
Without it you can still browse explore, view links, write a relay, join a group, and use archive and my.

Q. Why does the app need the camera?

A koong is a record you take in the place itself.
Leaving a koong photo or video needs camera access.

Q. How old do I need to be to join?

You can join Where U At from age 14.
Sign-up asks for your birth year. Under 14 cannot join.

Q. Is Where U At free?

Where U At is free to use right now.
If paid features are added later, we will say so in advance and ask for consent under the store’s rules.

Q. Where do I ask a question?

Use the Contact Us button at the bottom of the page, or email admin@thenonscale.com.
The team reads messages in the order they arrive and replies.

Q. Does Where U At keep tracking my location in the background?

No. Where U At is not a live location tracker. It uses location only while you use a location feature.
Details are in the Privacy Policy and the Location-Based Service Terms.

Q. Can other people see my current location automatically?

No. Your current location is not shown to friends or other people on its own.
Place shows up only through location content you leave yourself, such as a koong, link, or spot.

Q. I’m worried a sensitive place, like home or work, will be exposed.

Where U At has safety tools for sensitive places.
Be careful when you post a public record at home, work, school, a hospital, or where you live. You can use the in-app protections together with report and delete.

Q. When does the app need photo access?

Photo library access may be needed when you attach an image to a link, or pick a photo in some features.
A koong is taken on site, so it needs the camera separately.

Q. Why does the app need notification access?

Notifications carry comments, relays, group activity, notices, and other news you need while using the service.
You can change them anytime in the app or in your device settings.

Q. Where can I read the privacy policy and the terms?

In the app’s settings, or on the official web pages, you can read the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Location-Based Service Terms, and Community Guidelines.

Use Report in the post or profile menu.
Reported content is reviewed under the operating policy and the Community Guidelines. It may be removed, limited, or lead to an account sanction.
